In Logz.io, you can set up the alerts to notify you via email or any other services that accept webhooks or have a web API. First, you must find the documentation from your provider on how to configure alerting with their system. Then, within Logz.io, go to Alerts & Events --> Alert Endpoints and click on "Create Endpoint." At that point, you should choose the type of endpoint. You can use one of our preconfigured endpoints or create a custom one. As soon as you click on the Custom option, the screen will reveal the following fields:
Fill out the following:
Name: A name to identify your endpoint.
Description: A description for the use of the endpoint (optional).
URL: The URL to which you will be sending the information.
Method: The method you are using with the URL above. If you choose POST or PUT, a new field for body will appear.
Headers: The headers that you need for this action. (Note: Not all integrations require headers.)
Body: This is the content that is sent to the URL above if you are using a POST or PUT method. The variables that are shown in the example JSON are all the currently available variables that can be used. In the body, you will have to modify the example JSON to match the requirements of your endpoint.
After all the relevant fields are filled out, press "Save" and you will have a new alert endpoint.
At this point, you can create alerts using this endpoint.
NOTE: If you are not receiving alerts on your endpoint, you can test your configuration by creating sample data and sending it to the endpoint using the curl command from your terminal.
